Build Status

Decoder.i18n = :en
country = Decoder::Countries[:US]
# => "United States"

state = country[:MA]
# => "Massachusetts"

Currently the yaml files are still quite incomplete. Please fork and populate!

FIPS Certain US States have FIPS codes. You can either get the code for a state or look up a state by its FIPS code:

Decoder.i18n = :en
country = Decoder::Countries[:US]
state = country[:MA]
# => 25
state = country.by_fips(25)
# => "Massachusetts"

When adding a new language please use the ISO 639-1 Code 2-letter standard. You can find the appropriate code for a given language here:

Note on Patches/Pull Requests

  • Fork the project.
  • Make your feature addition or bug fix.
  • Add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
  • Commit, do not mess with rakefile, version, or history. (if you want to have your own version, that is fine but bump version in a commit by itself I can ignore when I pull)
  • Send me a pull request. Bonus points for topic branches.
