The DIP Metadata Viewer is a web-based, interactive table for viewing and filtering the data dictionaries for data sets available through the Data Innovation Program (DIP)—a data integration and analytics program for the Government of British Columbia.
The dip-metadata-viewer is built using the {flexdashboard}, {crosstalk} and {reactable} R packages. All metadata is sourced from the B.C. Data Catalogue using the {bcdata} R package. All the data described in the dip-metadata-viewer is licensed Access Only and is only available through the Data Innovation Program—the data described in the dip-metadata-viewer is not downloadable directly from the B.C. Data Catalogue.
There are two scripts that are required to generate the viewer, they need to be run in sequence: (1) the get-data.R script to get and tidy the metadata from the B.C. Data Catalogue and (2) the dip-metadata-viewer.Rmd R Markdown file to generate or "knit" the html dip-metadata-viewer.
All of the required packages can be installed from CRAN using install.packages().
