We'd like to optimize our REST endpoint for HTTP clients. First, we can use `"server.compression.*"` configuration keys to compress JSON responses. This will use less network bandwidth. We can also leverage the `"ETag"` information provided by GitHub itself and forward it to the REST client. This way, clients can use the `"If-None-Match"` conditional request header and get a response only if the data changed since the last request.
