About

A project for sharing GitHub repos to watch on twitter.

Based upon The Changelog's Watch Wednesday project.

Status

Incomplete. Currently there's one page, http://watchwednesday.com/benatkin, that gets tweets containing "benatkin" (or another username) and "watchwednesday.com", and displays them with links based on the tweet format below.

Gist support

I like using gists with Markdown, rather than tweets alone, for several reasons:

  • Can hold more information, including why I'm interested in the repos
  • Easy to fork
  • Shows up on github
  • Easy to make a local copy

I plan to make this aggregate gists, in addition to tweets.

Tweet format

Quiet:

#WatchWednesday *jashkenas coffee-script docco *cloudhead less *github gollum *creationix postgres-js http://watchwednesday.com/benatkin

Loud:

#WatchWednesday *jashkenas coffee-script docco @cloudhead less @github gollum @creationix postgres-js http://watchwednesday.com/benatkin

TODO

  • Download tweets
  • A form for building up a tweet
  • Optional Sign In With Twitter for extra features
