When I try to download files from inside the plugin something goes wrong. After downloading the error "wrong file format" occurs. I'm using Mac OS X.
Problem appears with doc docx and pdf files. Nevertheless txt files work fine.
After downloading, word i.e. wants to convert the doc file to open it. After that only hyroglyphs are shown...
so i guess the file format gets changed for the files at least for more advanced file formats then txt.
thanks in advance!
I figured something out, but the problem is still there. All uploaded files are ok. The file size is right and I could open them with Transmit in Preview and everything looks fine. Same when I manually download the file with transmit.
What doesn't work is the download from documents revisions within. all downloaded files have a wrong file size, mostly under 10 kb despite much bigger real file size.
Interesting: when I target the file directly in my browser i.e. http://static.example.com/74e4a706d1f817937868f92d8b2a93e9.pdf
then the file works perfect!!
Using the generated plugin url like http://example.com/docs/example.pdf brings an error or with docx files, the corrupted files.
Your help would be really appreciated!
Ok found the bug.
The plugin SEO Ultimate was responsible for the wrong file format after download.
There's a setting in the plugin module "title tag rewriter" which is uses output buffering by default. Changing this to the second option "use filtering" solves the described problem.
So, everybody using SEO Ultimate and having the same problem as me, please change your "title tag rewriter" settings.
I have this issue as well, but I'm not using SEO Ultimate. I do have W3 Total Cache, but have disabled it, confirmed that all of its entries were removed from the .htaccess file, and same issue. Just as others have described, I have no issue uploading, and I've pulled the file directly off of the server and it is fine (not corrupt). Could there be an apache config that we're missing that's causing it?
