Today we are announcing a new set of features improving both the collaborator and owner experience in FromThePage. These features include:
Guest User
Without creating an account, guests can save transcripts up to three times. Guests who sign up for an account during the same session will have their activity moved to that account. This lowers the barrier for first time transcribers, allowing them to "kick the tires" before committing to an account.
"Needs Review"
Pages can now be marked as "Needs Review" by transcribers and any transcriber or owner can list pages needing review.
Better work statistics
We've improved our work statistics -- visible to transcribers as well as owners -- to include pages needing review, disabled subject indexing, OCR projects and translation projects.

Owner Homepage
Project Owner Homepages now list collections and activity on those collections. This provides a public place to link to all of your projects.

Export Entire Collection
You can now export an entire collection as a zip file of work exports.
Transcription Conventions at Collection Level
We now provide default transcription conventions. Transcription conventions can be set at the collection level for all works, or changed at an individual work level.
Improvements to Subject Linking
IIIF Lookup Service
Configuration Documentation
The wiki now has a page on configuring FromThePage for your environment.
These changes have been tested and have been running in the FromThePage.com environment for weeks.
If you manage your own FromThePage server:
You'll need to do a database migration after pulling down the most recent code. Depending on how often you upgrade you will likely need to run a "bundle install" to install or upgrade new ruby gem requirements.
If you use our managed hosting:
You already have many of the changes since we upgrade your server monthly. We'll be upgrading your server to this release today.
