My existing Stackedit (http) popped up a modal for upgrading to the https website. I follow the instruction, backed up my local storage and settings, upgraded to the https website and restored everything from the json file. Everything looks fine until I updated my document and need to sync with Google Drive, and it just don't work. I can't even try to import or export to Google Drive, it just times out.

I have all my documents synced to GD and none in Dropbox, so I can't really tell if that part is broken too or not. I am currently using the old Stackedit until the https issue can be resolved.

Thanks,

Henry

Hi @bbhenry

During synchronization do you get the dialog confirmation: "You are being redirected to Google authorization page.". If yes, are you sure your browser is not blocking the popup just after the confirmation?

If you don't have any other choice, can you try to revoke the access of StackEdit in Google Dashboard -> Authorize Account Access. There should be one or more authorizations to remove. You can remove all of them, StackEdit will recreate them.

I tried, but it still times out. And now I can't even access my old stackedit. It seems like everything has been redirected to the new https://stackedit.io

It still times out even though I removed the connection of Stackedit on Google Drive.

Hi @bbhenry

I can't seem to see your error in Google Analytics logs. Have you disabled GA extension in StackEdit? Can you enable it and perform the operation again so that I can investigate.

You can still use the old platform using http://benweet.github.io/stackedit/?noredirect.

GA is on by default, I didn't turn it off. And I just tried to import from GA again and it timed out, same result if I try to do anything with GD. By the way, can DB and GD co-exist? Can I sync the same file both on GD and DB at the same time?

Yes but it will fail because of the timeout. Any error in the javascript console?

Can you have a look at #59 (comment) and see if a bigger timeout can fix the problem?

I had problem with sync because I use Disconnect extension for Google Chrome browser. After unblock google in extension sync began to work.
@bbhenry, maybe you use any blocker?!

Yes, that would be a good idea to test in an incognito window.

Good news, after disabling the "disconnect" extension on chrome, I was able to sync all my file to Google Drive again. And that was also why you didn't see anything on Google Analytics either.

thank you all

You might click "g" icon in dropdown menu of "disconect" to block/unblock google for concrete site.

Update WELCOME.md
I think is it's a good hint for new users, as I had no idea what was blocking me from exporting to GDrive, until I saw Issue #158.

For anyone who is interested, disabling "g" icon in "disconect" does not solve this problem anymore. Instead, one should uncheck the "google (1 request)" under the "Content" item. As shown below.
