Several of our open issues can be solved using a general approach to adjuncts. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adjunct_(grammar) for a general introduction, and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adjunct_(grammar)#Semantic_function for an idea of the kinds of things we can cover.

Many of these things are currently marked 'adv' - but not always consistently. We need one consistent approach.

We may label all adjuncts 'adv', since they do relate to the verb. Or we may choose a label like 'adjct'. In either case, a type descriptor to indicate the purpose of a particular adjunct is very nice to have.
