Originally reported on Google Code with ID 110

Someone on Mac OS X (Safari/Firefox) cannot share their deskstop unless
the applet is forced to use http tunneling.

The applet starts fine (when compiled to be compatible with java 1.4) but
not data is received on the server. When the applet is compiled to be
compatible with java 1.6, the user gets a "Bad class version" error.
