The panel/tray icon does not show up on Ubuntu 18.04 #916

On Ubuntu 16.04, when Backintime is started from cron, its icon appears in the Unity system tray.
On Ubuntu 18.04 (using the default Gnome Shell), there is no icon

It's annoying because it was a great way for the user to be informed that a backup was taking place in the background. And to let this user cancel the backup if necessary (because of a need of the full network bandwidth, or of the full disk I/O throughput).
