This is contemptible. Are childish and spiteful knee jerk reactions sufficient reasons for cutting code? |

Absolutely outrageous! Some people are really doing there best to make bitcoin (core) synonymous with censorship.... a sad move indeed! |

Once they see this, they are definitely going to switch back to Core. I bet they're really scared right now. What else can we do to make them change? Start a hashtag on Twitter? Tell our parents? Write a Tumblr post about it? C'mon guys let's push them over the edge! |

This is pretty ridiculous. Coinbase is clearly one of the leaders in the industry and they help make Bitcoin accessible to everyone. You are acting like children. |

Coinbase is now running Bitcoin XT in their production servers. XT is an contentious hard fork attempt that will create a new altcoin and split the community and blockchain should it ever go into effect. If this ever happens, Coinbase's customers may find that they no longer own any actual Bitcoin. See the whole thread here: #1178 |

Stopp trolling about that an altcoin will be created and that community will be splited and that people will not own any bitcoin! It's just wrong and untrue! |
|
@chris-belcher Spare us the "altcoin" FUD - you don't get to decide what is Bitcoin and what isn't - the markets will decide. |

@jlopp Spare us the "censorship" FUD. bitcoin-dot-org is a privately run website that has the freedom to associate with who it likes. On a free and open internet it's very hard to censor anything anyway. XT is an altcoin. If instead of lifting the max_block_size it lifted the 21m money supply I would say the same thing. Sure you might say now the community is filled with libertarian goldbugs who wouldn't accept it, but in a few years time with more adoption the make-up of the community might be very different. If you want a market to decide, have a look at this thread I've contributed to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1157898.0 It provides a way to trade XT-coins for core-coins before a hardfork ever happens. In that thread I've written a proposal to trade my future XT for your future core coins at a very attractive rate. I'm happy to put my money where my mouth is, but since August when I posted, no XT-supporter has yet taken me up on my offer. |

@chris-belcher how does it make it an altcoin? When they put the 1mb hard limit in from 32mb, did that make it an altcoin too? |

@MorgUK Yep it was, but then everyone switched over with hardly a thought because it was 2010 and the only thing you could buy was pizzas for 10,000btc a piece. In contrast with the much larger ecosystem today where millions more people have bought into the consensus. @HostFat Do you actually believe I'm against bitcoin somehow? Really? I've spent months of my life improving it with open source projects (as have many people here.) Rejecting BitcoinXT entirely fits with my view of bitcoin as a decentralized, censorship resistant, monetarily sovereign digital cash. We should talk sometime, I'm on IRC if you want to get in touch. |

Is the segregated witness soft fork equivalent to a 4MB block size increase, a 2MB increase, a 1.75MB increase, or what? I keep hearing different numbers. 隔离见证软分叉相当于 4MB、2MB、1.75MB 或究竟多少的区块大小增加?我听到的说法各不相同。 |
