Remove 'The Genesis Block' from resources. It redirects to a spam page. #407

@schildbach Spam? Can you provide some more explanations? |
It's obvious that this is no statistics & charts site, but rather some kind of news aggregation. Combine that with the fact that you're redirected to an unknown domain. |
@schildbach AFAIK, they write their own news, and mining / market charts used to be displayed on the front page instead of news. As far as I remember, they are occasionally quoted by other news sources, and I am not aware of any spamming attempts from them. (Although I have no strong opinion on keeping them) |
Unwanted content is the definition of spam. Anyway, I'd just remove the entry because it redirects to a strange page. Would you link to an article on Wikipedia if it redirects you to let's say MSN articles? |
How is thegenesisblock any more unknown/unwanted than other external links? It does seem to have changed its name to TradeBlock, though. So either it should be removed or updated... |
@luke-jr That's exactly the point. The user clicks on The Genesis Block, gets a different page. The user clicks on a link in the category Charts and Statistics, and gets a newssite, charts and statistics nowhere seen. Spam. |
Agreed on updating the link at the very least. @schildbach I can confirm the content on tradeblock.com hasn't changed, but they seem to show news by default when redirecting from thegenesisblock, probably because it previously was only serving news, but this slowly evolved to being a portal page. |
I have just updated the link and name, so the page should point to the same page as before (not their news/research page). |
