Just acknowledged, eh? I guess that's a no. |

We don't currently have useful metadata on the page. So in telling google to not use its own sources I'm not sure what will happen. Otherwise I think that sounds fine. Also, Atlas— please don't open pull requests with an nonending sea of sockpuppet names. |

There's a proposed description. From: "Official site offering documentation, forums and the open source client software which permits to send and receive bitcoins." To: "The original site offering documentation, forums and the original open-source Bitcoin software." |
|
Shouldn't that be the description field and not the author field? |
|
My apologies. I am doing this with a very small iphone screen. Thank you all for your time. Mr. Andresen, I apologize for my disrespect in the past. I say this genuinely: I appreciate your commitment to Bitcoin and the work you have done. I have underestimated what goes on here. Thank you as well, Gmaxwell. This expression extends beyond whatever happens with this request. Do what you wish with my proposal. |

The current proposed description is erroneous since Bitcoin.org does not host forums, and is just a gateway for the variety of Bitcoin clients (not any one in specific). @JohnSmith555 Note that "ACK" is GitHub-speak for "looks good to me". |
|
Oh— good point on the forums part. Meh on the clients. It's also the place where you get the reference client. |
|
Alright, I removed the forums part. I made the software client part a little more open-ended if that's agreeable. |
|
@luke-jr Sound good to you now? |

In addition to correcting the minor formatting issue in the header, I added <meta name="robots" content="noodp" /> to the page layout so the Google description for the Bitcoin.org result is taken directly from the page instead of using outdated ODP data.
http://www.google.com/search?q=bitcoin&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
This will appease people who are complaining about the current outdated page description that uses the word "official".
