@stefanvaduva I think we can't claim a specific forum or website is "official", as it would require some exclusive control over some trademark, and I would have an issue with that. As for adding a link to your forum, I see few activities on it yet, perhaps this can be revised when it becomes more active? I have added a link to the BitcoinTalk romanian subforum for now. |

Thanks for your reply, @saivann. The term "official" was only used in relation with the Romanian speaking community and it's activities, so I think that implying "exclusive" control over trademarks is a bit far-fetched. But I understand that it can create confusions and I will think at another terminology. I also understand your position regarding the current activity on the forum and although I don't really agree with this one, I guess I have no choice but to try again after the forum becomes more active and hope that then it will be accepted :) |

Perhaps the Romanian "oficial" is not exactly equivalent to the English "official"? Just a thought... In English, it implies authoritative, and a better word would be "Bitcoin Romania community forum". Someone fluent in Romanian needs to decide what is appropriate for Romanian language. :) |

@stefanvaduva Thanks for your answer. Perhaps can you explain a bit more what your plans are with the forum? Maintaining a community can be a lot of work and it seems to me that new communities that haven't yet succeeded often don't grow and work, either due to a lack of active members, poor moderation, technical issues, too much advertizing, etc. |

Because I own bitcoin.ro, I think it is my duty to try and gather the community around this domain. I know there is already an active Romanian subforum on bitcointalk.org and that's fine, but I feel that bitcoin.ro is a better place to gather the Romanian community (btw, by saying community I'm not only talking about forums, but also about IRC channels, offline meetings and events, service providers, etc). Only time will tell if the community feels the same or not. I know what maintaining a forum implies. I own and manage vamist.ro as well (a forex trading forum). Actually one of the reasons why I want that link on bitcoin.org/ro (and why I've made this pull request) is related with the fact that I realise the importance of having active members. And having the link on the official website will definitely help. |

@stefanvaduva Thanks! On the other hand there isn't other independent forums listed yet for romanian visitors, so as far as I'm concerned, I think there's no harm in helping you by adding the link. At any time if there is additional romanian forums / social networks, I think it would be easy to cherry pick which ones are the most popular. Thanks for fixing the "official" claim (like @luke-jr, I'm still curious to know if "official" is having a different meaning in romanian). On the "About us" page on bitcoin.org, a paragraph has been written to try avoiding the perception that the website was authoritative https://bitcoin.org/en/about-us. |

Thank you as well, @saivann. Regarding the meaning of "official" in Ro, I think it's actually the same as in En. The only thing is that you can refer at something to be official in a particular context. Like the official representative of a local community that is different from the official representative of the global community. The easiest way to understand the difference is by thinking at a city that is divided in multiple districts. We can have a mayor for a particular district and he's the official representative of that district. But then we also have the mayor of the city and he's the official representative of the city. I think the paragraph added on the "About us" will help |

In the absence of critical feedback, this pull request will be merged on October 30th. @stefanvaduva Thanks for your effort with building a nice romanian community! |

I think you guys deserve more of the credit for doing the things you do. So thank you too! |

Please include this change so that Romanian speaking users can have a link to the official forum from the community page.
Thank you!
