BlueCat's Rest APIs allow external orchestration products to monitor service status, as well as to read and write as the enterprise system of record for DNS and IP Addresses. This capability is used to speed up provisioning, taking manual checks and updates off the critical path. This capability is also used for NFV solutions providing scale in and scale out of DNS resolution capacity based on service volumes or CPU, Memory Usage etc.
