The sel port displays the index of the currently granted signal.
This is useful for directly driving multiplexers

Sorry about the long time in getting to this but I was prepering for the a conference and work was taking all my attention. I also wanted to test this change with Xilinx tools as they don't always play nice with the '$clog2' function.

No worries. I appreciate tested changes over fast ones :)
Regarding Xilinx and clog2, I think they had a buggy implementation up to 13.something. It's very annoying and I know that people still use old versions, but the 14 series versions have been available for several years now so I think we should be able to assume that most people don't have a broken $clog2
