After upgrading to Windows 10, I'm unable to create a boot2docker VM. I uninstalled boot2docker and virtualbox and then reinstalled using the latest versions.

When I type the command $ boot2docker init -v this is the output:

I'm not sure if this is purely a Virtualbox issue or not. Thanks!

Try the following.

boot2docker download

What version of VirtualBox is being used here?

@jakirkham I'm using version 5.0. I'm also using Boot2Docker 1.7.1. I don't have any VMs created, I deleted them all when I reinstalled.

@aaronsturm, so version 1.7.1 shipped with VirtualBox v4.3.28. Would you mind trying that version in case there is some unusual issue with 5.0?

@jakirkham I started with Version 4.3.28 and only upgraded after I started having issues.

Also after upgrade and started completely from scratch several times, removed existing host adapters, including uninstall/reinstall all related apps, all available upgrades installed, including VBox Extensions, and disabling IPv6.... I've traced this issue down to the following:

Hi guys,

it looks like there is a temporary workaround for this problem. Please see this comment.
Just tried it and everything works fine.

I don't recommend this fix. Good hackers vs Bad Hackers. Waiting for the actual fix. Till then I am using Docker inside Ubuntu Virtually in Virtualmachine itself :)

If you open VM created you see that it does not have storage and that is not very usable.

I switched to Virtual box ubuntu <- docker util this is been fixed. We can run an anonymous person's executable file in admin mode. How foolish this could be .. rather I would wish, if he made it as open source..

i came to same problem with boot2docker1.7.1 + window10 + VitrualBox5.0.1.
when boot2docker create "boot2docker-vm", it can't construct networking correctly.

docker-machine became same.

so i changed to VMWare Player + Docker( not boot2docker ) manually.

Looking at a blog post from @agileramblings there is a solution out from the docker/toolbox repository.

You can find the test build here and how to configure manually if you already have it installed.

If you're still having issues, refer to the section of the above blog post discussing having Hyper-V enabled with Virtualbox, and how to disable Hyper-V without having to install it.

I confirmed that it works. Hopefully this helps someone else out there!
