After upgrading from 0.7.6 to 0.8.1 I found all my running containers in ghost state. However I can't seem to recover those containers using docker stop or docker restart as advised in the documentation.

$ docker ps
CONTAINER ID IMAGE COMMAND CREATED STATUS PORTS NAMES

...

$ pgrep -f 673956a34fb3

$ docker stop 673956a34fb3
unexpected EOF

$ docker restart 673956a34fb3
unexpected EOF
