AOT: Add portability analyser AST pass - #1871
Merged
Merged
Conversation
Portability analysis pass will reject scripts that use features that are not yet AOT compatible. The expectation is over time we can relax the portability checks as AOT supports more features. Note that although we added an `--aot OUT` parameter, we do not document it. We'll document it once something is working.
See inline comments for more details on why each feature is disabled. I currently believe they can all be eventually supported with minimally invasive code changes. Re-enabling of these features will come after the initial proof-of-concept is completed.

This PR is part of the AOT work. More details available here.

Note that AOT is currently intentionally undocumented. Once a basic
proof of concept is ready I'll document it.
