Description

Typing in search engine keyword and pressing enter does nothing. you have to enter a search term for it to load the site. Just typing the search engine keyword and pressing return should just load the site similar to browser-laptop

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Add a custom search engine keyword
  2. Open a new tab and type the searchengine keyword and press tab shows as search on the site
  3. Doesn't load the site if you press enter. Have to type a search term to load the webpage

Actual result:

Search engine keyword + Return doesn't load the page

Expected result:

Search engine keyword + Return should load the page

Reproduces how often:

Easy

Brave version (about:brave info)

All

Reproducible on current release:

No. b-l loads the site by just entering the engine go key and return

Website problems only:

  • Does the issue resolve itself when disabling Brave Shields?
  • Is the issue reproducible on the latest version of Chrome?
