neutral new tab background for dark mode/no background images #8061
Comments
@rebron Thanks for the reply. *** NO "dark" designs**, as you put it, is not what many online (github, reddit, forums etc etc) want. Many of us just want to be able to: SET THE NTP BACKGROUND TO BLACK
WE JUST WANT TO HAVE BLACK BACKGROUND & BE ABLE TO REMOVE OTHER "DESIGN WIDGETS" TOO. Simple, should take a few minutes to code. WE DO NOT WANT DARK DESIGNS. Next step would be the default Search_engine Text_Field: THANK YOU VERY MUCH for you taking up this CRITICAL issue for many influential users online. @rebron you are very much appreciated by many. |
Yes, please add other colors to options. Preferably some colors/gradients to also match with dark theme. For the moment I use this extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/empty-new-tab-page-dark-g/penfkpiinoeikpfhnmgfogeodpomnncg |
I really like the Brave stats, clock, top sites, and other quick access features on the new tab page. I however like others in this issue struggle with the coloring of the new tab page. I want a simple dark background. Any hope this is moving along? |
Closing in favor of #15252 - see issue for updated designs (and subscribe if interested!) |
Description

Expected result:
The "no background" Brave gradient wallpaper needs a dark theme counterpart:
We will be adding functionality for user-added and user-selected images, solid colors, and gradients in the future. Please see #5838 (comment)
