Youtube dark mode and auto-play settings reset sometimes

Description

Every now and then when I go to youtube.com, the site has lost my dark mode and auto play settings. I haven't cleared my cookies.

This sounds a lot like brave/browser-laptop#15081 which has been closed

Steps to Reproduce

1. navigate to youtube.com
2. set dark mode to on and auto-play to off
3. navigate back to youtube.com some days later

Actual result:

Dark mode is off and auto-play is on.

Expected result:

Settings should always persist until cookies are cleared

Reproduces how often:

Random

Actually, I just navigated to theverge.com and am being asked to accept cookies again. So it looks like cookies are being removed randomly

hi @kevindbeard Do you have cookies set to clear on exit or are you blocking All cookies on YouTube or others in Shields settings? These intermittent ones without steps are hard to nail down.

No I'm not doing any of those. I haven't touched the Shields or cookies settings from the default

If there's anything else I can send you then please let you know.

I have the same issue sometimes.

Intermittent, not able to replicate.

Have not touched cache, cookies or the shield.
