+Create a new desk as a publish desk within bricolage and call it whatever you want but auto publish works well for us, this is in addition to the main publish desk. Then run the following every X minutes as a cron job. It basically polls for all stories on the desk and publishes them if the cover date is in the past. Watch out for timezone changes between what the bric db thinks the time is and what datetime thinks the time is but apart from that it works really well and is easy for editors to be able to use it and understand how it works, plus stopping something publishing is as simple as taking it off the auto publish desk.
