Common MIT license file with current year and author name (like in gemspec).

If somebody use other license, he can only replace license text. But if MIT is ok, you can forget about copying this every time you need this.

Er... why? I normally just put "Licensed MIT" at the bottom of my readmes.

@indirect a lot of projects use separate file for the license. Really. And this is much simplier: no need to look through README, what license is used.

Default new gem's gemspec to have MIT license.
When creating a new gem, there is already an MIT license file added
(bundler#1571), this makes it explicit
in the .gemspec so that tools like https://github.com/pivotal/licensefinder
can easily detect it.
