Since Spine is released with Cacti, should the version of spine be checked and a warning generated if it is not the same version? This could happen from within Spine or Cacti itself?

Generally, it's not been an issue when Cacti versions change and spine versions remain the same. But since we will be doing something more radical in 1.2, I would agree. How verbose those warnings are is another topic. Something to put in the debug plugin I think, or as I had suggested, we just merge the debug plugin.

Put it in Technical support. Serious issues might deserve a hint on the main console, in addition to some phone home on a periodic basis (automatic email).
