Boost may not find archive tables correctly

Under 1.2.19, we've taken down the database to do some maintenance - after bringing it up again, Boost is no longer working, and Graphs are not updated. We've also encountered 1788 "poller_output_boost_arch_*"-tables in our database.

After some research about the problem, we've came across https://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=62057 .

So, we've updated both cacti and spine to 1.2.21, to no avail.

We've deleted all "poller_output_boost_arch_*"-tables, without any effect. New tables are simply created with each new poller run.

Ran & Repaired some db issues with audit_database.php, but this didn't help. Trying to force boost from the cli simply ends execution after "DEBUG: Parallel Process Setup Begins." with no further messages.

Further investigation uncovered that code execution dies at line 339 of poller_boost.php with the dreaded "Failed to retrieve archive table name" message, presumably because boost_get_arch_table_names() returned something that led cacti_sizeof() choke. I'm still trying to figure out what goes where.

Just in: looks like the poller_output_boost_arch_% are empty, because digging further revealed that:

SELECT TABLE_NAME AS name
FROM information_schema.TABLES
WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = SCHEMA()
AND TABLE_NAME LIKE 'poller_output_boost_arch_%'
AND TABLE_ROWS > 0

returns nothing, and indeed, querying a random one of the existing tables show that they contain no rows whatsoever. So it's our polling that seems to be broken, but the current error messages don't hint at it.

The root cause of this was spine not being able to connect to the DB. I'll open a separate Issue for that. Leaving this one open for the moment to perhaps improve error messages.
