When you use sql functions like SUBSTR, which requires more than one parameter, the final mapping is incorrect.
select substr(field_1, 1, 6) as renamed_field, field_2 from table;

Thanks for the patch, but since we're no longer actively maintaining 1.x on the master branch this pull request can't be easily merged. Also since there is no oracle driver for 2.x merging is more difficult.
