Background - When there are homonyms it is impossible to chose which one will be inserted in a taxonomic history. It seems that only the senior homonym appears at the pickup list.
Example - Forelophilus overbecki Kutter is now Camponotus overbecki (Kutter) [http://antcat.org/catalog/507132], which is a junior secondary homonym of Camponotus overbecki Viehmeyer [http://antcat.org/catalog/433364]. Thus, Camponotus overbecki (Kutter) was replaced by Camponotus javaensis.
The taxonomic history of Camponotus javaensis is: Replacement name for Forelophilus overbecki [now Camponotus overbecki (Kutter)]: Ward, Blaimer & Fisher, 2016: 349 [junior secondary homonym of Camponotus overbecki Viehmeyer, 1916a].
Each one of the taxon names should be linked its AntCat page. I tried to insert Camponotus overbecki (Kutter), but just Camponotus overbecki Viehmeyer appeared in the pickup list.
Questions:
1- Why is the senior homonym the only name showing up in the list?
2- Is there a way to associate authors to a name in such list? For now, names do not show up with the authors. So, in example above, the pickup list showed one Camponotus overbecki, and at that point, there was no way to know if the name was described by Kutter or Viehmeyer.
Thank you!
Flavia
