Calamares 3.3.0 (alpha5)

This is the last of the 3.3.0 alpha series. All the TODO items for the 3.3 release have (finally!) been resolved, Python modules work with pybind11 (no dependencies, faster, now the default) and Boost (traditional approach), configuration schemas have been tightened up, and more. As usual, read the CHANGES-3.3 file for details.

Look for a -beta or a full release once this version has had its tires kicked by some real distributions.

Calamares 3.3.0 (alpha4)

Various fixes in modules, and a huge amount of internal work: Calamares is now Qt6-compatible and QML modules can work (in principle -- most of the example modules need to be ported still). This marks another milestone in the list of todo-before-3.3 items.

Calamares 3.3.0 (alpha3)

After a year of off-again on-again progress, there have been some larger features contributed by the community, so it's time to get this alpha out the door in order to switch some other parts of the infrastructure over to the 3.3 branch. Lots and lots of changes, see the CHANGES-3.3 file.

Calamares 3.2.62

This release updates translations and is the last 3.2 release with new translations. From now on, the 3.3 branch will be the source of translation texts, in preparation of a real 3.3.0 release. The signing key is my own, personal GPG key rather than the usual Calamares key, which expired on 2023-01-10.

Calamares 3.2.61

This release fixes the locale module, which assigned wrong locales to languages, and the bootloader module, which was no longer Python 3.3 compatible (which is something the 3.2-stable branch in Calamares promises).

Calamares 3.3.0 (alpha2)

The second alpha-release of Calamares 3.3. This time, we'll get the release-scripts right. With ABI-stability promises in the future, some bugfixes, and a fair bit of internal reorganization, this is one step closer to a 3.3.0, but count on at least two more community-release alphas before then.

Calamares 3.2.60

The first of the community-maintainence releases of Calamares, 3.2.60 brings a handful of changes -- and a tarball without an updated CHANGES-3.2 file. The "special" buttons for "about" and "debug" have been made a little easier to find, fstab now complains about (some) nonsensical settings for mount options, and Catalan (Valencia) and other regional variants are better supported.

Calamares 3.2.59

This is a regular short-cycle release, but also the last 3.2-series regular release. The 3.2 branch is now in bugfix-only mode, and future development work will be on the 3.3 branch. This is also my sign-off release as (paid) maintainer.
