@judepereira

I've cloned puppet-mysql into my manifests/modules and renamed it to mysql.
The site.pp contains the following:

include mysql::server

Exec { path => "/usr/bin:/bin" }

mysql::rights{"Set rights for puppet database":
ensure => present,
database => "puppet",
user => "puppet",
password => "puppet",
}

mysql::database{"mydb":
ensure => present,
}

The user isn't getting created at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @judepereira,

Without more details it's difficult to help you.

  • which Linux distribution/version
  • can you give us the output of ''puppetd-t - debug ..''
  • is mysqld running, what is the value of the fact ''mysql_exists''?
  • did you also include the augeas puppet module? http://github.com/camptocamp/puppet-augeas

Cheers,
Mathieu

Hello @judepereira,

If this is really the code you're using, there's a problem: you want to create and grant access to user "puppet" on "puppet" database - but in this listing, there isn't any "puppet" database - just "mydb"...

Cheers,

C.

I close this as it looks like a misusage of the module. Feel free to reopen if you think this is still relevant.
