GC Task Success Survey: Continuous improvement of web content

-

As part of reporting requirements for the Government of Canada, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat has adopted the task success survey method as a primary means of measuring the performance of web content and services.

- -

All departments and agencies subject to the Directive on the Management of Communications are required to implement the GC Task Success Survey on their web properties.

- - -

The GC Task Success Survey is a continuously running intercept survey. It includes both quantitative and qualitative aspects.

- -

The key quantitative measure is the task success score, based on participants’ yes/no answer to whether or not they could complete their task. This score helps identify trends with task performance and ease of use. Qualitatively, the survey offers participants the opportunity to provide feedback about their experience. User submitted feedback helps pinpoint what parts of the service may have issues to explore in more detail.
