Context menus prevent events from reaching the first responder #581

Because the context menu opened by CPMenu +popUpContextMenu:withEvent:forView: is opened in a new CPWindow and that window becomes front, all new received events are not passed to the real first responder of the existing window where the right click occurred. The desired behavior would be for these context menu windows to either not take any responder status (possibly becoming CPPanels?) or to pass all incoming events to the parent window. As a related issue, left clicking away from the context menu should dismiss it.

  • This issue needs a volunteer to write and submit code to address it.
  • A minimal test app should be created which demonstrates the concern of this issue in isolation.
