This past sunday, March 26 2023, me and my team, 12313 Hotdawgs, traveled to Belton TX to compete in the Tx state championships. It was no doubt a fun experience, and one that I will not soon forget. There were a lot of joys, and many more mishaps, but I cherished all of it. Coming out of the tournament, I have a heaping of regrets, but I have come to realize that such is life. We do not control what events are going to hold meaning to us. We do not get a say in what is fair in our lives. The amount of work you put into something does not always directly equate to what you get out of it, and this past competition proved that to me especially. What im trying to get to is that we lost, and for me, it was heartbreaking. I hold no resentments against my team, absolutely none, for they all tried their best, yet I feel that this meant something else to me, something more. The amount of hours I put in, sleepless nights, excitement built up, all for it to amount to this. Although we did make it to the state champs, I know we could have gone farther. Thats what hurts the most, knowing you could have done better. And boy, do I know I could have done better. I want to just go back in time and scream at the top of my lungs and say \"fix this, prioritize this, talk to these people, DO SOMETHING\", but such is life, and you have to move on. I learned so much, met so many people and made so many memories. I actually spent 2 of my last 4 birthdays at a robotics competition. Its certainly weird talking about something that defined you for so long about how its over, because it actually is. Thank you robotics for what you have done for me. I thank you for how much joy you gave me, how much passion you made me commit, how much excitement you granted me, and most of all, how much disappointment  you bestowed upon me. Funnily enough, I remember a line from south park going something like, \"it really makes you feel alive to feel this sad\", You could have never made me feel so shitty, if you didnt have the capacity to make me feel such joy. Although I will never get to experience this again, maybe thats exactly what gives this whole thing meaning. Doing something that is guarenteed to last forever is, in no short words, not fun.
