Clifford Carnmo

Passionate about tech leadership and culture, low-level programming, amateur radio and the demoscene.

I have almost 20 years of professional leadership experience from leading and developing people and teams, combined with a strong focus on promoting positive tech culture and leadership. I lead according to the servant leadership model and have exclusively positive experience of the impact of motivated, engaged, and confident people in a creative environment and culture. My experience in the tech industry means that I can credibly lead, coach and motivate as a role model in words and action.

Leadership profile

  • Empathetic leadership that promotes engagement and development through coaching and constructive feedback.
  • Situational and agile leadership in technical environments and engineering organizations.
  • Purpose-driven leadership based on clarity, trust, interaction, and collaboration.
  • Governance, recruiting, staffing, and retaining highly competent engineering individuals and teams.
  • Inclusive environments where perspectives are valued, ideas welcome and goals are reached and celebrated together.
  • The ability to adapt my leadership and switch between strategic, tactical, and operational contexts.
  • Experience from operating committees, due diligence, C- & D-suites, board of directors and management teams.
  • Consistent successful cross-functional interfaces and peer partnerships with surrounding contexts and stakeholders.

Key drivers and motivation

I get my energy from managing and evolving highly functioning engineering- and software development teams. I measure my success in other people’s success and their ability to evolve and excel at work. To live is to learn and I enjoy sharing knowledge and learning together with others. The how is equally important to me as the what. After 30 years in the tech industry, I still love every day I get to collaborate with brilliant people on stimulating projects.
