Remove Feature to Track changed metadata #1484
Comments
@sheraaronhurt @Talishask I see this as having two phases - one is to just get the changed metadata page working. After that we can consider what can be automatically updated. Other than wanting a list of all workshops that have changed metadata on the link above, is there anything else you'd want to see immediately here? Based on this, let me know Which of the following applies to when you want to see this fixed?
I'm guessing it will be 1 or 2 for the first fix and then 3 for the automations (especially as it would probably connect with the changes to the workshop template @fmichonneau is working on). |
@maneesha I would like this to be a 1 for phase 1 (this will help @Talishask as she updates the workshop webpages after each workshop. And 3 for phase 2. |
Agreed |
In the first phase of this, we'd just like to see the changed metadata page working. After that we will revisit this issue to consider how notifications and automations may work. |
I'll move this after email automation project is merged. This project adds support for Redis which should be very helpful in checking websites metadata. |
We will remove this feature because it is addressed through the weekly emails sent to Workshop Admin team. |
i believe this one can be closed. |
This page: https://amy.carpentries.org/workshops/events/metadata_changed/
is supposed to track events that have changed metadata from the github workshop page. As it is not currently working, first we'd like to update the page to note that this page is under development.
Next we would like to get it working so we can see what events have changed metadata, and possibly allow for automatically updating the event data. I know not all data can be automatically updated so this may not be entirely possible.
