Context: When entering attendance for instructor training events I often use the attendance number to confirm all trainees were added. However, I have to count the individual tasks to verify those recorded as an open seat or under a membership.
Current Status: Currently the attendance field shows the total number of learners for the event and a question mark icon. Hovering the mouse over the question mark icon reveals a pop up that shows a breakdown of the total attendance number. The current breakdown includes the number of Manual entered attendance and counted learner tasks (see screenshot)
Question: What is the purpose of the manual entered attendance? For example, if the event total was 22 (Manual entered attendance: 0, Learner Tasks: 22). We then edit the event and add 5 into the manual attendance field and then submit those changes. The total attendance number does not increase, it remains at 22 but the breakdown shows Manual entered attendance: 5 and Learner Tasks: 22, which should mean the total goes to 27. So this is confusing. I'm also not sure how we would use this information but if we want to keep it, can we update the math so this calculates appropriately? @sheraaronhurt & @maneesha - What do you think? Do we need manual attendance included in the breakdown?

The manual attendance is a vestige from when we collected attendance numbers from workshops. In @sheraaronhurt 's current workflows, we do not collect attendance so that is not really used. I think we should revisit how that is used with her.
For the count of learner tasks for instructor training events, @Talishask you are right that this should fit into the membership infrastructure project. We'll keep this open here to consider as features of that project are implemented.
