Include map link for airports #2351
Comments
@pbanaszkiewicz @elichad is there any other information needed to implement this feature? |
@maneesha I thought I saw a ticket to use a different source of airports. If we were to change the source, would we still need this ticket? |
This issue (#2352) recommended using the IATA API to fill airport values. |
I think it would be easier to show a location preview on the map for airports rather than to switch our system to capture and enter data from IATA API. |
Using the API should mean that we only need to enter in the IATA code, and all the other info (name, country, lat, lon) should fill in programatically. That part is low priority. Showing the airport on a map (just as we do for event lat/lon) would be helpful as a check as we've had several cases where the lat/lon was incorrectly entered. Overall though, I would consider these airport items relatively low priority (nice to have but not needed). |
For workshops and organizations, after entering lag/long we have a link to preview and verify the location on a map.
We should have the same functionality for airports.
