Strum

a plucky little pattern sequencer

For monome norns v2 and grid 128.

Two versions. One uses the KarplusRings engine for string-like ring and pluck. The other uses PolyPerc for a ringing delay tone.

Install

• Download and unpack
• Copy 'strum' folder to your norns in the 'code' folder.

grid Controls

• Tap grid pads to set/change pitch.
• Double tap to add a rest.

norns Controls

Dividied into pages

• ENC 1: chooses page

Page 1 (sound)

• ENC 2: sets scale
• ENC 3: sets tonic

Page 2 (pattern)

• ENC 2: adjusts direction
• ALT (KEY 1) + ENC 2: sets pattern length
• ENC 3: adjusts tempo

Page 3 (storage)

• ENC 2: scroll thru list
• ENC 3: scroll to Load/Save/Delete
• KEY 3: select option from ENC 3
• KEY 2: back out of a selection

Note: Saves patterns and settings, plus synth params.

Keys

• KEY 1: param and system menus (hold for ALT)
• ALT + KEY 2: randomizes pattern
• KEY 3: pauses/restarts

MIDI

• MIDI IN: clock sync
• MIDI OUT: to external synths

Param Settings

• Grid display: scatter or bar
• Set grid and MIDI device
• Set grid rotation
• Set MIDI channel
• Various clock settings
• Synth params can be changed (beware the high ends!!!)
