[Chartbeat]( is a real-time data service for your website, social streams, and iOS apps. Once you [become a Chartbeat member](, you can use this plugin to automatically add the necessary JavaScript to your WordPress blog. After installing the plugin, you’ll instantly see your site’s traffic, and audience behaviors. 

== Installation ==

1. Upload `chartbeat.php` to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
3. Under Settings > Chartbeat, add your User ID
4. You may also add your API key and configure the widget (API key must have "all" permissions).
5. Select Chartbeat Publishing if you're using it
6. If you want to use the widget, drag it into your sidebar under Appearance > Widgets

*Note that you must have your timezone set correctly for events to work properly in
the historical chart.
