The Chat SDK comes preconfigured on our test Facebook accounts meaning there is some configuration required to set up your own project.

NOTE: You will need to have a Firebase account already created to complete this tutorial

Create a Twitter Developers Account

  • Go to the Twitter developers page
  • Create a new app for your project
  • Navigate to the Keys and Access Tokens page
  • Copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret

Now you must configure your app with your Chat SDK project.

  • Open your projects Info.plist
  • Open chat_sdk -> twitter
  • Add your Consumer Key in the api_key field
  • Add your Consumer Secret in the secret field
  • Open URL types and add a new Item Dictionary (with Document role as editor - see example project if needed)
  • Copy your Consumer key into the Item 0 field preceded by twitterkit- (e.g. twitterkit-0123456789)

Configuring your Firebase account

  1. Navigate to your Firebase dashboard
  2. Click your Firebase app
  3. Click Authentication and then SIGN-IN METHOD
  4. Open the Twitter row and enable Twitter authentication
  5. Enter and save your Twitter Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
  6. Copy the OAuth redirect link and navigate back to your Twitter app dashboard
  7. In the top menu click the Setting tab
  8. Add your OAuth redirect to the Callback URL field
  9. Save your changes

Twitter is now configured to your custom Chat SDK project
