Legal Resources

Please note that this document is not meant as a replacement for seeking legal advice, and that individual states and countries have different resources. We have labelled resources by their country and state.

Your NDA does not prevent you from reaching out to these resources, or from consulting with an attorney. We have also included a list of attorneys we have had good experiences with.

With all resources listed here, we recommend the following:

  1. Document everything. The more documentation you have - be it e-mails, witnesses, paper, etc. - the better.
  2. Establish a clear timeline. Establishing a timeline supported by documentation makes a case stronger.
  3. Speak to an attorney in your area. We are able to provide generic resources. An attorney in your area can provide better guidance.

  • NLRB - https://apps.nlrb.gov/MyAccount/#/ChargeAndPetition/TermsConditions - Focuses on issues of employee organisation. If you have been told not to discuss wages or working conditions with others’, file with this organisation.
  • EEOC - https://www.eeoc.gov/how-file-charge-employment-discrimination - Focuses on discrimination issues. If you have faced racial, sexual, sexual orientation, religious, disability, or any similar discrimination, or have faced retaliation, file with this organisation.
  • USDJ - https://civilrights.justice.gov/report/ - Focuses on discrimination issues. If you have faced racial, sexual, sexual orientation, religious, disability, or any similar discrimination, file with this organisation.
  • OSHA - https://www.osha.gov/workers/file-complaint - Focuses on workplace safety. If you have faced an unsafe working environment, file with this organisation.
  • DoL - https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/contact/complaints - Focuses on wages. If you have faced issues with getting paid during FMLA, or issues around overtime pay, file with this organisation.
  • DoL OFCCP - https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ofccp/contact/file-complaint - If your employer is doing business with the Federal Government, you are protected by the discrimination laws and regulations that are enforced by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). An individual, organization, or group can even file a complaint on your behalf. Note that you must file a complaint within 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination, unless the time for filing is extended for good cause shown.
  • False Claims Act -https://www.justice.gov/civil/false-claims-act - Federal law that imposes liability on persons and companies who defraud governmental programs. It is the federal Government's primary litigation tool in combating fraud against the Government.
