Just upgraded to mpide-0023-macosx-20120903-newlib release (OS X 10.8.2), and although the serial crash bug has been fixed -- all of a sudden the floor() function returns zero (no matter what value of double is passed to it).

Thanks for filing. I've confirmed it's part of a missing compile flag. I'm
doing a new build of MPIDE that will resolve the issue. I've confirmed this
is fixed in master.

This seems like related to issue #283. I think we can close this.
