[Request] Filter URL referers (less tracking = more privacy) #1009
This is best left to a specialized extension to handle this. There are already existing extensions which addresses this.
I think you could code the option and let others create and update a filter list.
If you close the issue too soon, nobody will discuss it. Only 12 minutes?...
It's a completely separate feature than the primary purpose of uBlock. This doesn't fit at all with dynamic filtering, neither static filtering, neither cosmetic filtering.
It's a completely different task, which would require it's own UI, it's own network request handler, it's own external resource management, its own documentation, and it's own issues/bugs to be resolved with volunteered time.
Best left to another project where the focus can be put on developing the idea to its full extent. I just do not see it fit naturally in this project.
This is something AdBlock Plus always refused to do and then they even allowed ads.
