uBlock 0.9.3.1 disables itself on Firefox #1215
Version 0.9.3.1 is not an official release and as you stated it may be a Firefox flaw so not uBlock related.
Hi @jasonl99!
Hmm. Has this occurred at all, to your knowledge, with stable Firefox?
@chrisaljoudi I haven't used stable firefox for a long time. Too boring :). However, over the next couple days I will use it and see if I have the same issue.
@jasonl99 hello again!
Has the issue reoccurred?
@chrisaljoudi sorry for the delay... it has not happened nearly as often and not at all in the past few days. I imagine the issue must have been firefox-related, and the underlying issue has maybe been addressed in a recent built. I'll post again if it happens again. Thanks for your work!
Same here with 0.9.3.5 on FF 38 beta. ublock seems to disable itself on some pages for no apparent reason.
As an example: opening https://news.ycombinator.com/news from the tiles page always disables ublock for this url. It can only be enabled by not clicking the power icon but by reloading the page. Manually entering the url does not cause ublock to disable. However, https://www.youtube.com is also on tiles too, but does not cause this problem at all.
Edit: Updating greasemonkey forced me to restart the browser, which seems to have fixed the problem with ublock.
Case reported in #1215 (comment) is not because of a bug here. He was trying to run both uBlock versions side-by-side and there was a conflict because I missed changing an id in the extension code. For the other cases, I don't know.
yes I run both version side by side to show you wich version is auto disables and wich work perfectly
wich work perfectly
There was a conflict because of a colliding id. Which one ran "perfectly" depended on which one was started first.
0.9.3.5 work perfectly
0.9.4.0 fail

@tntc4 The problem was that you had them installed at the same time, and they both used the same ID.

Current running Firefox nightly 40.0a, but this has been an intermittent problem for a while and with earlier versions. I will suddenly notice ads appearing, and somehow, uBlock has been disabled (when I go to Firefox's add-ons page, it is disabled there, and the icon no longer appears on the toolbar). I've done a few google searches, and this has happened to adBlock users as well. In fact, one blogger things there may be some sort of exploitable flaw (http://elizabeths-blargh.blogspot.com/2015/01/adblock-plus-keeps-disabling-itself.html).
uBlock has not worked for an entire day for me before stopping/disabling.
I'm not really sure how to troubleshoot this and provide more data.
