**WARNING** - this is the 'nasty serial hack' version. Use the official version at https://github.com/3esmit/JObexFTP unless you have awful RXTX problems. This is README file for JOBEXFTP 2.0 JOBEXFTP dev homepage: http://www.github.com/3esmit/jobexftp 1. About Project What is JObexFTP? JObexFTP is a Java implementation of Obex Client protocol under Siemiens/Cinterion AT specification aimed to work with TC65 and TC65i modules. Its a fully opensource library (and application) to transfer files from/to obex server. You can use it in any J2SE application to enable java communication to module without third party app. You can also use it as a MES in unsupported cinterion plataforms like Linux. It can be easily support similar devices. 2. Dependences This software uses, obviously Java, and RxTx library. RxTx is a native library that helps Serial (and Parallel) communication under Java. Its freely avaliable in http://rxtx.qbang.org/ it also has a debian package that dosent works in modern linux but there is a project to fix that here http://github.com/chrisdew/rxtx 3. Features - Easy and clean source code. - Easy API calls to perform FTP operations - Follow most of the (IrDA) Object Exchange Protocol - Support of connect, setpath, get, put and disconnect operations - Easy implementations of new devices (reather then Siemiens/Cinterion) - Truely Object Oriented Project - Test driven development - Event based I/O operations 4. What changed from JOBEXFTP 1.0? - Full refactoring of code - 60% faster read/write ATC and OBEX Op. - Main API classes documented in java doc - Working just with byte arrays - OBEXObject, OBEXFolder and OBEXFile now works - Human readable folder listing - Easy access to obex information - Different levels of debug options - Tested, stable and working code 4. Known bugs - Sometimes, before some operations, the server directory goes one level up without client requisiton, and client still belives it is in the path. - Aborting put operations leaves the file half there. 5. Not implemented yet - Setting user/group permissions - Setting files and folder attributes - Getting device memory flash properties - Interactive mode - TCP connection mode - Internationalization - .deb and .rpm packages 6.
