We are conducting a complete overhaul of our parking asset data to improve accuracy, reduce redundant data entry, and facilitate integrated curb management for right-of-way permitting and new mobility technologies.

Test editing revealed that the relationship classes needed to be modified, have not moved forward with new schema yet. Additionally, due to enhanced editing capabilities in regards to related data, the new process will move directly into ArcGIS Pro.

Modified relationship classes and discussed the changes with Parking, they are on-board with the new setup. Have not had time to work on project since verifying this change as other projects have taken priority.

  • CTM is now not recommending the use of Oracle Sequence/Triggers for calculating Unique ID values, therefore moved on to researching ArcGIS Pro Attribute Rules instead. The Attribute Rules in Pro will provide exactly what is needed for calculating the Unique ID values for the GIS Parking data that requires no additional work by the user as the field is automatically populated.
  • Work has continued on data migration into SDE with the Block Segments being ~85% complete, and Parking Zones more than ~75% complete.

  • Attribute Rules in ArcGIS Pro have proved to be a stable method for calculating the unique ID fields.
  • Work continued on data migration into SDE with the Block Segments now 100% complete.

  • Work continued on data migration into SDE with the Parking Zones now 100% complete.
  • It has now been determined that having the history of the data available is important in order to compare time frames for occupancy on the parking data.
  • The Mueller area will be fully converted to use as a test case for the new methodologies for keeping historical data.

  • The Mueller Area data migration has been completed. The database schema was modified for keeping track of historical data and changes were made to the data for testing the new methodologies. A data export was created for Ford as they are working with Parking on this process.

Putting Project in the Backlog until we can get back to it or Joseph can hire his GIS Analyst.

Started working on this project again recently as the Parking GIS Analyst left her position. The parking meter / pay station data has been migrated to MAINT. Removed the relationship classes between parking spaces and meters / pay stations as the relationships were not necessary. Started migrating the parking spaces, hope to finish soon. Creating the parking restrictions for each parking zone will be the last migration piece from AGOL to MAINT.

Completed the migration of the parking spaces data. Started working on getting the parking restrictions created for all of the parking zones in the new related table, I'm about halfway through at this point. After this last part of the data migration is complete, I will start working with Parking on getting them familiar with the new database structure. Then they can take over and begin to create new workflows for maintaining the data in the new environment.

The Parking Inventory data migration has been completed. Spent some time going over the database structure and data with Parking staff. They are now getting familiar with the data and creating new workflows for maintaining the data. I will be available to assist, but at this point the project is now in their hands.

DTS' part of the data migration is complete. Closing project, will create new Issues as Parking needs assistance in the future.

I just updated this project description, but it lacks a few details:

  • @TracyLinder, who were the stakeholders?
  • @andrewshensky - what's the preferred nomenclature for second resource I called "test instance"?
  • @alan-deanda @johnclary - any chance y'all could turn up the awesome presentation Jaime did about this project at a team meeting back in the day? Bonus points for adding an image to this index issue. 😉
