I put some images in a 'media' folder in the root, but it can't seem to get to them. I found the line in app.js:
app.use(express["static"](path + '/media', {maxAge: 86400000}));

which seems fine to me, but the log outputs:

15 Dec 12:05:45 - debug: Handling static asset

The GET call fails, however.

Any ideas?

Each module and theme has a "public" folder which is the root of the static URL.
The theme overrides files in a public folder of a module.
Thanks
Andy
