Currently there is no Delete action present for ECS resource type so tag enforcement becomes only tag nagging as we can't actually take action on the resource. There is a delete option for ECS in Python. https://boto3.amazonaws.com/v1/documentation/api/latest/reference/services/ecs.html#ECS.Client.delete_cluster

by ecs resource type you mean a cluster I assume (ecs service & task have delete equivs). one notional issue with cluster is that we won't nesc be touching the underlying resources of the cluster (ec2 instances or fargate). probably need to verify behavior when there are underlying resources in the cluster.

@kapilt It looks like the Cluster instances have to be deregisted prior to delete and the tasks can't be in a "Active" state for the delete to work:

delete_cluster(**kwargs)
Deletes the specified cluster. You must deregister all container instances from this cluster before you may delete it. You can list the container instances in a cluster with ListContainerInstances and deregister them with DeregisterContainerInstance

You can’t perform that action at this time.
