Terminal input lag causes keystroke reordering

Problem

Fast typing like ls↵ gets reordered to l↵s — there's noticeable input latency that causes keystrokes to arrive out of order.

Expected

Keystroke handling should be responsive enough for normal typing speed.

Context

Reported during dogfood testing. The terminal otherwise helps reduce friction.
