Getting this error on Debian 9 using MariaDB/InnoDB, both with master and v1.5.0.

Switching to postgres fixes the issue. Apparently also switching MariaDB to use UTF8 (second-hand information, have not tried myself).

This might be a duplicate of hackmdio/codimd#1156 -- reopening here on request of @SISheogorath because it might be useful to document the issue and the workarounds somewhere, maybe in the installation procedure docs.

Command to switch the db to utf8 that fixes the issue (from a friend):

alter database codimd character set utf8 collate utf8_bin;
